Predicate Adjectives

55. Examine the sentence

Puella est parva, the girl is little

In this sentence the adjective parva is separated from its noun by the verb and stands in the predicate. It is therefore called a predicate adjective.
(You've learned about predicate adjectives in your English Grammar.)

Notice that again, the adjective agrees with the noun it modifies. Puella is in the nominative, singular, and feminine -- and so is parva.
